Truck Owners and Drivers Association

Truck Owners and Drivers Association of Arabia

By the Truckers, For the Truckers.

Truckers of the World, Unite! Truckers of Arabia, Unite!
What Truckers Are Up Against

Truckers need to unite to get a rule changed, a law passed, a treaty renegotiated or a regulator moved — which is why a Global Network of associations exists.

Migrant driver standing

National labour law

A largely migrant driver workforce on employer-tied contracts has limited practical recourse on pay, hours or conditions. Reform is legislative.

Heat protection for drivers

National regulation

Midday work bans protect site workers. A driver in a cab or a gate queue is less clearly covered. Extending the standard is a regulatory decision.

Border procedure between GCC states

Regional bloc

Customs and inspection at the Gulf crossings is unpaid time. Harmonising procedure is a matter for the states that share the corridor.

Vehicle age limits and mandated renewal

National regulation

Fleet renewal requirements fall on owners with no replacement finance. Both the mandate and the finance route are government instruments.

Transport rules set nationally across a shared market

Regional bloc

Gulf states share corridors but set licensing, weights and hours separately. The operator absorbs every difference.

Red Sea diversion and corridor capacity

Regional / international

Shipping disruption pushed volume onto land routes that were not built for it. Capacity and rate structures have not followed, and neither adjusts commercially.

Overland transit through Jordan and Iraq

Bilateral

Permits, escorts and security arrangements on the corridors carrying redirected cargo are agreed state to state.

Regional driver qualification recognition

Regional bloc

A licence earned in one Gulf state is not automatically valid in the next.

What the Association Does

Each of these answers something on the list above. This is the work of moving those decisions, not a catalogue of services.

Raises migrant driver conditions as a regional position

Campaign

Employer-tied contracts leave drivers without recourse. The Association argues it across the region, not country by country.

Presses heat protection on the road to match the standard on sites

Formal submission

Midday bans protect site workers. The Association files the case for the driver in the cab and the gate queue.

Documents crossing dwell between the Gulf states

Member evidence

One dataset covering both sides of each crossing, presented to the states that share the corridor.

Works toward one voice on GCC transport procedure

Coalition

States share corridors and set rules separately. The Association is the body that spans both.

Presses corridor capacity after the Red Sea diversion

Campaign

Volume moved to land routes without rate structures or infrastructure following it.

Negotiates on fuel, tyres, insurance and maintenance

Collective bargaining

Purchasing coordinated across the Arabic-language chapters.

Partner with Us

The Association invites local and regional associations, truck owners, motor carriers and professional drivers to build this with us.

Road freight is carried by the people doing the work, and their expertise is what matters most. Joining means becoming a regional partner in the Global Network of Associations worldwide — what is learned here reaches operators on every other corridor the Global Network covers, and what they have learned comes back.

Let us build a future where the road freight sector is robust, inclusive and forward-thinking.
