Truck Owners and Drivers Association

Truck Owners and Drivers Association of Canada

Within the vast expanse of Canada’s trucking industry, the Truck Owners and Drivers Association (TODA) is dedicated to championing the interests of truck owners and drivers while addressing the unique challenges facing our nation’s transportation sector.

At TODA, our mission is to unite and empower truck owners and drivers across Canada by advocating for fair regulations, promoting safety and innovation, and addressing the specific issues that impact our industry’s efficiency and sustainability.

With a focus on cross-border trade, remote communities, and navigating harsh winter conditions, TODA serves as a vital advocate for the Canadian trucking community. We strive to ensure that regulations and customs procedures at border crossings are efficient and manageable, while also addressing the logistical and infrastructure challenges faced by truckers serving remote and northern communities.

Statistics show that Canada’s trucking industry moves over 70% of the country’s freight, with cross-border trade accounting for a significant portion of this activity. Additionally, over 80% of Canada’s communities rely exclusively on trucks to deliver goods and services, highlighting the crucial role of trucking in connecting remote and northern regions with the rest of the country.

TODA is committed to tackling the ongoing driver shortages by promoting training and education initiatives and advocating for policies that attract and retain qualified drivers. Additionally, we work to address the impact of fluctuating fuel prices and carbon pricing policies, which can significantly impact operating costs for trucking companies.

Through collaboration with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and our members, TODA aims to develop and implement effective policies and initiatives that support a safe, efficient, and sustainable trucking industry in Canada. Together, we strive to build a brighter future for truck owners, drivers, and stakeholders across the country, ensuring that Canada remains at the forefront of transportation excellence and innovation.
