Truck Owners and Drivers Association

Membership

Four Ways for Truckers of the World, Unite!

Every rule that decides what you earn, how long you wait unpaid, and who carries the liability is written in a room. You have never been in that room.

The people who have been in it are organised. That is the only reason they are in it.

Why membership exists

One operator is a complaint. Thirty thousand is evidence

A driver who reports six hours lost at a dock has an anecdote. Four hundred drivers reporting the same dock, lane by lane, month by month, have a dataset — and a dataset is the only thing a regulator is obliged to read.

That is the whole mechanism. Not sentiment, not solidarity for its own sake. Membership turns what you already know into something that can be filed, cited and argued.

Help is not coming from outside. It never was.

The brokers who set the rates have no reason to change them. The shippers holding the trailers have no reason to release them faster. The agencies writing the rules hear from the people who can afford to be in the room.

Waiting has been the industry’s strategy for forty years, and detention is still unpaid. The Association exists because the people who move the freight are the only ones with a real interest in changing how it is moved.

Associates Truck owners, drivers, owner-operators, motor carriers, companies and transport workers. The foundation of the Global Network and its chapters.
Enterprise Organizations in a deeper commercial and operational relationship with the Global Network of Associations, delivering mission-aligned services under its governance.
Affiliates Providers of resources and services - compliance, insurance, finance, equipment, software and training, delivering benefits to Associates under agreed terms.
Collaborators Media, influencers, digital creators, researchers, educators, advocacy groups and campaign partners who amplify the work and build it with us.

The foundation

Associates
01

Who this is: truck owners, drivers, owner-operators, motor carriers, companies, cooperatives and transport workers. If you are behind the wheel or you own what is under it, this is you.

What you get

  • Representation in the rulemaking that sets your operating conditions — filed, not merely held
  • Your chapter’s collective rates on fuel, tyres, insurance, finance and maintenance
  • Training on compliance, inspection readiness, load securing and fatigue, taught by operators who have done the work
  • Contract review before you sign, including lease-purchase agreements
  • Access to what every other chapter has learned, in your own language
  • Member portal, badge and certificate
  • A vote in what your chapter argues for

What is asked of you

  • Report what you are up against — the dwell, the deduction, the refusal, the lane
  • Nothing more. That reporting is the raw material everything else is built from

Why it matters that you specifically join

Associations that speak for large fleets already exist and are well funded. What does not exist, in most of the world, is a body that speaks for the operator with one truck. The Association is only as accurate as the operators inside it. If the single-truck owner is not in the room, the case made in that room will not be his.

Amplify and build

Collaborators
02

Who this is: media, influencers, digital creators, researchers, educators, advocacy groups, partner institutions and campaign contributors. People whose work reaches an audience, or produces knowledge.

What you get

  • Recognition as a Collaborator of the Global Network
  • Profile and directory visibility across the chapters
  • Co-branding on joint work, under agreed terms
  • Campaign and toolkit access
  • Collaborator portal access
  • A structured channel into the chapters, rather than cold outreach to strangers

What is asked of you

  • Amplify the work — coverage, content, research, teaching, campaigning
  • Build it with us rather than about us

What is actually on offer here

Access to operators in 35 chapters across 17 languages who will talk to you because their own association asked them to. If you have ever tried to research road freight, or film a driver’s working day, you already know that access is the hard part — not the interest.

Deliver to members

Affiliates
03

Who this is: providers of resources and services — compliance, insurance, finance, equipment, software, training, fleet management and trucking-related businesses.

What you get

  • Official Affiliate recognition of the Global Network
  • Access to an organised member audience across 35 chapters and 17 languages
  • Co-branding under approved terms
  • Marketplace presence and directory integration
  • Participation in events, newsletters and campaigns
  • Affiliate portal access
  • Chapter-aligned routes to market rather than one-by-one prospecting

What is asked of you

  • Deliver a real, agreed benefit to Associates — not a listing, a benefit
  • Hold to the terms of that agreement, which the Association will enforce

The commercial case, plainly

An organised audience costs less to reach than a scattered one, converts better, and churns less — because the recommendation comes from the operator’s own association rather than from an advertisement. In exchange, the Association will hold you to what you promised. Providers unwilling to be held to that should not apply.

Deeper integration

Enterprise
04

Who this is: organisations in a deeper commercial and operational relationship with the Global Network of Associations — chapter-linked service providers, operators inside the Network’s commercial infrastructure, and participants in structured or revenue-linked partnerships.

What you get

  • Access to the Network’s commercial infrastructure and tools
  • Stronger branding alignment and approved enterprise designations
  • Enterprise portal access
  • Operational support and reporting pathways
  • Chapter-linked business models and structured service ecosystems

What is asked of you

  • Operate under the Network’s governance, not alongside it
  • Deliver mission-aligned services, with accountability to the Association’s standards

How this differs from Affiliate

An Affiliate sells to members under agreed terms. An Enterprise partner operates within the Network — sharing infrastructure, governance and, where structured that way, revenue. It is a deeper commitment in both directions, and it is granted rather than purchased.

Joining

Four steps, and the first one takes minutes

Step oneDeclareA short form confirming your place in the trucking industry. Minutes, not paperwork.
Step twoVerifiedYour declaration is checked and your classification confirmed.
Step threeAssignedYou are placed in the chapter covering your territory, in your language.
Step fourActivePortal access, badge and certificate. You can start reporting the same day.

Before you decide

The questions people actually ask

I run one truck. What difference does my joining make?

That is the point. Bodies representing large fleets are already funded and already in the room. The single-truck operator is the voice missing from the record, and the Association is only as accurate as the operators inside it.

Is this a union?

No. It is a professional association operating lawfully within the rules of each country it works in. It files, documents, trains and negotiates collectively. It does not call strikes.

I have joined associations before and nothing happened.

Then ask this one the same question you should have asked them: what have you filed, where, and what came back? Every chapter’s page lists what it is working on and in which arena — a regulator, a ministry, a treaty review. Judge it on that.

Will my company find out?

What you report is used as aggregated evidence. A dwell time becomes a number in a dataset covering a lane, not a complaint with your name attached.

I am not in one of the 35 chapters.

Join anyway. Chapters are formed where there are enough Associates to form one, and every existing chapter began as a handful of operators who declared before the chapter existed.

What does it cost?

[[FEE]] — state the Associate fee here, and whether Collaborator, Affiliate and Enterprise are by agreement. Leaving this blank is the most common reason a visitor closes the page.

Unity is not granted. Unity is declared

35 chapters. 17 languages. Six world regions. The Association is only as strong as the number of operators willing to be counted.
