Truck Owners and Drivers Association

Truck Owners and Drivers Association of Americas

By the Truckers, For the Truckers.

Truckers of the World, Unite! Truckers of the Americas, Unite!
What Truckers Are Up Against

Truckers need to unite to get a rule changed, a law passed, a treaty renegotiated or a regulator moved — which is why a Global Network of associations exists.

USMCA joint review

Treaty

The 2026 review reopens cross-border trucking access, rules of origin and dispute settlement. Operators across all three countries are affected and none of the three national bodies represents them jointly.

Cross-border carrier access

Treaty / federal

Who may carry what, and how far past the border, is set by trade agreement and administered nationally. It has never been negotiated with the drivers who cross.

Regulatory divergence across the hemisphere

Multilateral

Weights, dimensions, hours and licensing differ at every border in the Americas. Harmonisation is a state-to-state process with no operator seat.

Cargo security on transnational corridors

National security policy

Theft and extortion on corridors crossing more than one country cannot be addressed by any single national police force acting alone.

Driver licence and qualification recognition

Bilateral agreement

A qualification earned in one country is rarely recognised in the next. Mutual recognition requires bilateral agreement.

Financing access for small operators

National policy / development finance

Across the region the single-truck owner is the dominant business form and the least able to obtain equipment finance on terms that work.

What the Association Does

Each of these answers something on the list above. This is the work of moving those decisions, not a catalogue of services.

Carries a hemispheric position into the USMCA review

Cross-border position

Three national bodies, none of them representing operators jointly. The Association is the one that does.

Documents crossing dwell across every border in the region

Member evidence

One dataset gathered from the drivers who cross, presented to governments on both sides of each border.

Presses for mutual recognition of driver qualifications

Formal submission

A licence earned in one country should travel to the next. That is a bilateral negotiation the Association can push.

Builds a common position on corridor security

Coalition

Theft and extortion on transnational corridors cannot be policed by one force alone.

Coordinates the national chapters into one voice

Coalition

What the Texas, Mexico and Brazil chapters learn separately is argued together.

Opens finance routes for the single-truck owner

Coalition

The dominant business form across the hemisphere is the least able to obtain equipment credit.

Partner with Us

The Association invites local and regional associations, truck owners, motor carriers and professional drivers to build this with us.

Road freight is carried by the people doing the work, and their expertise is what matters most. Joining means becoming a regional partner in the Global Network of Associations worldwide — what is learned here reaches operators on every other corridor the Global Network covers, and what they have learned comes back.

Let us build a future where the road freight sector is robust, inclusive and forward-thinking.
